EPDA Tightens Mentoring on Creeks and Fishing Ports.

The Environment Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah has confirmed that there is no intention to launch drones to deliver profits for the fishermen at present. This initiative is under consideration and no action has been taken. EPDA revealed the tightening of control over the creeks and natural areas to benefit from the surveillance system with cameras on ports.Dr. Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, Director General of EPDA, explained that EPDA has strengthened its monitoring system on the marine environment in Ras Al Khaimah by using marine surveillance cameras to monitor living aquatic habitats in the emirate’s fishing waters, as well as ports. The results of this step will be used to update the protection strategies for the marine environment and the areas EPDA has begun to tighten its environmental control to ensure the sustainability of living aquatic resources. It will enhance the contributing to the preservation of fisheries and other marine life, as well as his preservation of the fishing profession and the continued practice of this important traditional craft associated with the sustainability of the food security. What has been published recently about the Ras Al Khaimah Fishermen’s Association delivering profits to fishermen by drones, has been inaccurate. Since this initiative has not yet been studied. EPDA for its part welcomes all constructive and purposeful initiatives to delight fishermen and achieve their well-being. It is therefore premature to announce such initiatives and there is no intention to launch such drones at the moment. EPDA is doing its best to serve the fishing sector and fishermen in the Emirate as directed by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, who attaches great importance to the fishing sector. There are Drones in EPDA, which are currently used to control the creeks, fishing areas, ports, natural and industrial areas. We also have an integrated system of inspection, which we were keen to use modern technological means that achieve the desired goal in preserving the environment and reducing pollution.
