EPDA Organizes ” Iftar of Emirati Values”

To coincide with the Year of Tolerance 2019, and to reaffirm the authentic values of the UAE community, has organized a collective Iftar for various community clubs in the Emirate under the title “Iftar of Emirati Values”. This comes in response to the call of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, “Umm Al-Emarat”, to introduce Emirati values.The Iftar was attended by a number of community club members in the emirate such as the Egyptian, Jordanian, Sudanese, Somali, Pakistani, Indian, and Filipino clubs. The attendees exchanged congratulations by the holy month of Ramadan. Pointing that the UAE seeks to achieve and consolidate the principles of justice, equality, harmony, tolerance and respect for others of different religions, races and cultures. The attendees were also introduced to the UAE values and exchanged conversations between the communities and the customs and traditions of the UAE.Dr. Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, Director General of EPDA, said that tolerance is not a new value in the UAE, but is one of the values of the forefathers and founding fathers in the country. He praised the necessity of spreading a culture of tolerance among the different nationalities living in the UAE, to ensure security, safety and harmony and to promote a culture of tolerance to create community awareness, and to consolidate the spread of a culture of tolerance through various community initiatives. The UAE society maintains the values of love, cooperation and solidarity in order to achieve the psychological balance of individuals and make them beneficial for themselves. Tolerance is one of the virtuous values of the UAE.
