Seagulls in UAE’s coasts

Seagulls are landing in the UAE among thousands of birds, which visit the country’s coastline as part of its long migration routes around the world.“Seagulls are a guest on the UAE’s extended coastline during the winter season, due to the colder temperatures during this season in Europe,” said Dr. Saif Al Ghais, Marine Environmental Specialist, and General Manager of EPDA. Migratory birds re-move westward at the height of the summer locally and regionally, during June and July each year; this time to escape the high temperatures and humidity.The presence of seagulls is an indication of the abundance of small sardines. Many seagulls and birds are heading to the islands of the UAE in particular, especially in the western region.
