A study within the project map of coastal and marine environments, showed that Ras Al Khaimah contains more than 15 diverse marine habitats, which will enable to promote fisheries, and to support the maritime system in the emirate. Dr. Daniel Molina (the lead author of the 700-square-kilometer study in the northern region, provided by the World Wildlife Fund in collaboration with Emirates Wildlife Group), that Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain are among the most diverse marine habitats.For his part, Dr. Saber Hussein of the Department of Geography at the Faculty of Science at the University of the UAE, stated that a scientific team from the university conducted a study on 15 underground wells in the area of Wadi Al-Bayh in Ras Al Khaimah. To study radon gas and its relationship to groundwater, to find that the wells are free of this toxic element, and that the groundwater is clear and safe, and characteristic for human use.This came during the sessions of the second day of the 5th international conference in Ras Al Khaimah on global warming, under the title of “Environmental Commitment”.In which scientists and specialists discussed their scientific papers, and centered on the importance of framing legislation and laws to intensify efforts in the face of climate change.
