Dr. Saif Al Ghais, Director General of EPDA, said that the insurance company of the vessel which caused the collision at the fishermen's wharf in Khor Khuwair has committed to compensate the owners of the damaged boats. EPDA is currently coordinating with the company to maintain the damaged anchorage. EPDA is following up on the maintenance of the anchorage by the insurance company affiliated to the vessel causing damages.
Rashid Al Shehhi, a resident of Khor Khuwair, said that the marina, which was built by the President's Initiatives Committee, was hit by a vessel about a month ago and is still not safe to use because of the destruction of key parts of it. Fishermen are harmed by the use of the shattered anchorage used by more than 60 fishermen in the Khor Khuwair area, north of Ras Al Khaimah.
