Dr. Saif Muhammad Al-Ghais, Director General of the Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al-Khaimah confirmed that the air quality and the decrease in dust and pollutant levels in the emirate’s atmosphere have increased significantly and significantly, after imposing a “traffic restriction”, and in varying proportions between its geographically extended areas, by between 40 and 60 %.
And that last December (2019) recorded rates of "pm10" pollutants up to 42, currently down to only 30, inside the city, and in industrial areas, at the beginning of December, they reached 126, to fall back to 60 and 70, equivalent to a decrease It ranges between 50 and 60%.
He said: All air quality measurement stations deployed in the emirate's regions, especially the industrial ones and the city of Ras Al-Khaimah, recorded a decrease in the rates of air pollutants.
