The return of "Al Sha'ari" and "Al Safi" is leading the decline in fish prices in Ras Al Khaimah

Yesterday, the prices of fish in the Ras al-Khaimah markets recorded a significant decline by between 30 - 60% with the return of capillary and net Arab species to the sales tables, as a result of the suspension of decision No. 501 of 2015 regarding the regulation of poetic and Arab net fishing for the remainder of the current season .

Dr. Saif Mohamed Al-Ghais, Director General of the Environmental Protection Authority in Ras Al-Khaimah emphasized that the suspension of the decision to ban poetic and pure Arab fishing came in a positive way and supported the people of the marine fishing profession, and the fishermen should continue fishing according to the market needs and not to use overfishing to preserve the stock Fish and ensure its sustainability to meet the needs of consumers on an ongoing basis.

He pointed out that the percentage of the commitment of fishermen to implement the decision since its entry into force in the beginning of March until the fifth of April amounted to 99.99%, as the authority recorded through inspection teams one violation for fishing net weight of 15 kilograms, stressing that the results of survey studies conducted by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment to implement the decision , Revealed the achievement of a significant impact on the type of fish net, as the proportion of fish increased and increased sizes and lengths, which confirms the importance of the decision in rebuilding the natural stock of marine life.
