Plans to raise air quality in Ras Al Khaimah

The Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah has revealed new plans to raise the air quality ratio to 90% in the emirate by expanding the uses of artificial intelligence in air and marine control, fisheries control, liquid material transport operations, and industrial sector activities in the emirate.

Dr. Saif Mohamed Al-Ghais, Director General of the Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al-Khaimah said that there are great efforts made by various sectors, bodies and ministries to improve the environment and develop and preserve its natural resources, noting that improving air quality is one of the goals of the national agenda for the UAE 2021 vision which aims to raise rates of these Quality to 90%, and to achieve this goal, the authority works with its partners in the government and private sectors to develop national efforts by various means and methods based on extensive control operations on all polluting sources of air, such as cement plants, crushers, the industrial sector, and others.

Pointing out that all cement factories are obligated to install modern surveillance cameras to monitor emissions, and these cameras are linked to the department's control and control rooms, pointing out that the authority has conducted 15,304 tests of air components from 226 reports on air quality during the past year.

He continued: As part of its efforts to ensure the sustainability of natural resources and the preservation of biological diversity, and after the announcement of the Khor Al-Muzahmi Reserve as the first declared reserve in the emirate, work was done to develop the park and prevent all forms of hunting within it, and the establishment of the first nursery to cultivate the "Crimean" trees, and 3025 trees have already been planted So far, pointing out that the authority has tightened control measures over the reserve to prevent and reduce encroachments on it, in addition to enhancing the stability of the fish eagle in the region by increasing the number of places suitable for its nesting.

He added: The system of artificial intelligence in environmental control provides many reports that benefit from some federal and local authorities such as the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Federal Electricity and Water Authority and the Ras Al Khaimah Sewerage Authority of the Public Services Department currently benefiting from the party system, the municipal department and the Tourism Development Authority.
