The Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al-Khaimah has announced the establishment of floating sensors, aimed at conducting "marine surveys", by one of the specialized authorities, in the marine region, which extends from Al Marjan Island to the port of Mairid, up to 7 kilometers from the emirate’s coast .
The Ras Al Khaimah Environment Authority called on fishermen working in the coasts of Ras Al Khaimah and its fishing ports not to approach, touch, or be exposed to devices or fishing alongside them, and exercise caution, and to avoid catching fishing nets with these devices and their equipment, in order to protect the fishermen and maintain tools Hunting and property, in support of the marine survey project.
Dr. Saif Mohamed Al-Ghais, Director General of the Environmental Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al-Khaimah, said that the emirate currently has about 1,260 fishing licenses belonging to citizens.
