EPDA has launched the “Clean Air… Healthy Environment” initiative, to measure indoor air quality in federal and local government institutions and sports clubs in Ras Al Khaimah. In order to ensure the purity of the indoor air from the gases whose rise rate leads to health problems in addition to damage to the environment. This comes as a complement to the efforts of EPDA in maintaining air quality. EPDA provides a number of air quality measuring stations in several locations in Ras Al Khaimah. In addition to several activities related to the measurement of indoor air quality in houses, covering approximately 15 areas in Ras Al Khaimah. EPDA also measures indoor air quality in educational institutions, restaurants, hotels, health centers, health clinics, commercial centers, mosques and beauty centers. Dr. Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, Director General of EPDA, said that all these initiatives come within the strategic vision of UAE and Ras Al Khaimah, which seeks to preserve the environment and the sustainability of its natural resources. He added that the initiative “clean air… healthy environment” comes within the framework of the EPDA's strategic plan and within the efforts to create sound buildings and a healthy environment for all sectors of society in Ras Al Khaimah.The initiative is also concerned with studying and sensitizing stakeholders to the need to apply the best international standards to ensure the quality of the internal environment in all sectors targeted by the initiative in order to remain a healthy city following the highest international standards and a clean environment free of pollutants. By measuring air pollutants such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, which should not exceed certain standards and odor-causing gases which are affected by, inter alia, the amount of external ventilation indoor air distribution and the efficiency of air purification equipment. Some indoor practices, cleaning materials, and the external air quality surrounding the building. The fact that internal pollutants are more harmful to human health than external pollutants. The Director General stressed the need to preserve the air to remain pure and follow the best practices that contribute to its preservation."}
