Al-Zyoudi honors the award winning schools for students of environmentalists in Ras Al Khaimah

His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment honored schools and kindergartens that won the Student Environmental Protection Teams Award organized by the Environment Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah in its second session 2019-2018.
At the same time, the third edition of the 2019-2020 prize and the new categories and standards were introduced during the ceremony held at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel in Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah in the presence of Dr. Saif Mohammed Al Ghais, Director General of EPDA and the directors of local departments in the emirate and a large number of employees Protectors of the student environment and their parents.
Al Zeyoudi said that empowering and engaging young people in working for the issues facing society, drawing and decision-making is a priority in the UAE and thanks to the support of the wise leadership and guidance we are witnessing generations with high awareness and awareness of the most important local and global challenges and a passion to participate in working to address them.“The competition and its young students are a clear example of how this generation is aware of its ability to succeed and influence in a specialized sector such as the environmental sector,” he said, praising EPDA's efforts to work for the environment.
For his part, Dr. Saif Mohammed Al Ghais said that the award was established with the aim of preparing generations aware of the importance of protecting the environment and the sustainability of its resources and then conveying environmental awareness through student environmentalists teams from schools to other institutions and various segments of society. He explained that the award has resonated in schools and kindergartens, which initiated the formation of more than 34 environmental teams, represented by 1089 students at various stages and educational seminars, who presented during the previous two prize sessions about 339 environmental innovation and planted 7800 local trees low water consumption like: Ghaf, Sidr and Samr.
He added that Al-Bereirat School for Boys won the First place as the best outstanding team for environmental protection, while the environmentalists team at Ras Al Khaimah Academy won the second place and the third team was the environmentalists team from Zahrat Al-Madain School.
