The Environment Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah achieved five advanced places in the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Governmental Excellence at its 14th session for 2019, which was announced by Sheikh Saqr Program for Governmental Excellence, by applying it to the 4th generation system of government excellence to continue to achieve distinguished results in the system of excellence.
EPDA won the second position as the best authority in the field of strategy, and the second position as the best entity in the field of service delivery, as well as the second position as the best entity in the field of sustainability. EPDA also got third place as the best authority in the field of projects and initiatives, and the third place as the best authority in the field of smart transformation. Then the fifth place as the best entity In the field of innovation and ranked fifth as the best authority in the field of financial and administrative governance.
Dr. Saif Mohamed Al Ghais, Director General EPDA, said that achieving advanced results in most of the standards of the fourth generation system of governmental excellence, with a total score of 438 degrees, reflects the authority’s success in achieving balance and harmony between different areas of excellence and sustainability in maintaining the results of the forefront.
Al Ghais added that the reason for achieving the advanced centers is due to the tangible improvement in the performance of the Authority's strategic planning team, where he developed an ambitious long-term strategic plan 2030-2018 to come in line with the strategy of the Government of the Emirate of 2030 and also the Authority succeeded in the digital transformation by 100% in the environmental permit services. This led to the closure of the Happiness Center for the main dealers about 4 years ago, in addition to the success of the authority in re-engineering the process of managing and organizing the fishing profession and following up the fish wealth in the emirate.
Eng. Moza Al-Muhairi, Assistant Director General said that one of the most important strengths that distinguished the Authority and contributed to this distinguished achievement was the announcement of the Khor Muzahimi Reserve as the first natural reserve in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and assigned its management to the Authority in addition to the presence of a laboratory equipped with the latest devices for the Authority.
